The Tunisian Pharmaceutical Company " COTUPHA " has been working in the field of health since March 1941. Its founder Paul LUCIANI was a pharmacist inspector residing in Tunisia since 1894. He founded this company to meet the needs of importing and distributing drugs claimed by laboratories and his fellow-pharmacists residing in Tunisia.

The Tunisian pharmacists having taken part in the capital in 1941 were as follows  :

Mr. BOUHAJEB working in Halfaouine street in Tunis. Mr. CHAHED working in KASBA street in Tunis. Mr. SOUISSI working in QuatrièmeZOUAVE street. Mr. Jalloul BEN CHERIFA working in SOUSSE. Mr. Ameur BEN CHERIFA working in SFAX.

The following pharmacists followed one another in managing the company:

Mr Paul LUCIANI from 1941 to 1957. Mr Mohamed BEN HAMOUDA from1957 to 1987. Mrs Aziza OUAHCHI from1987 to 1993.

- 1894 : Foundation of a dispensary in Sfax.

- In 1899 Mr. Paul LUCIANI founded the pharmacy of Tunisia Palace in Tunis .

- 1910 : Foundation of " the general association of pharmacists of Tunisia ". The presidency was provided to Mr. Paul LUCIANI. The association had as a mission to organize the profession and regulate it .

- March 1, 1914 : He was appointed as a general inspector of pharmacists of Tunisia. ( First inspector)..

- From 1914 to November 11, 1918 : (1 st World War) Mr. Paul LUCIANI was a reserve captain .

- September 10, 1927 : He contributed to the decree establishing one day off a week and vacations to pharmacies, a decree that Mr. Paul LUCIANI had many difficulties to make it accept by his colleagues .

- December 31, 1935 : end of his mission as an inspector .

- 1941 : Foundation of the Tunisian Pharmaceutical Cooperative .

- 1947 : Decree published in JORT N°57 of July 15, 1947 dealing with the organization in Tunisia of the long-prepared association of pharmacists by Paul LUCIANI .

- Born on Mars 16, 1905..

- Opening of a dispensary in Bab Souika in November 1934 .

- Since the beginning of his professional life, Mr. Mohamed BEN HAMOUDA had privileged relations with the whole leading authorities.

- January 18, 1952 : He was arrested following the large wave of repression started by the French authorities .

- 1964 : Founder of Touring Club of Tunisia .

- Born on January 22, 1933, died on June 27,1993.

- Studies of Pharmacy carried out in Paris, degree in biology .

- 1963 opening of a biological analysis laboratory in Sousse.

- 1966 Manager of the Tunisian Pharmaceutical Company.

- Corporative responsibilities : Vice President then President of the association of pharmacists of Tunisia; founder and president then President of the federation of pharmacists of the Arab Maghreb; Vice president then president of the union of Arab pharmacists.

- Her political and social responsibilities: Member of parliament and first member of the human rights association .
